So in other words, it's a tray icon, but on the left. I'm fine as long as the keep taskbar items the same with live thumbnails.
Don't know why all the vista hate. There's some compatibility issues but you should just get a new computer with a new operating system. My laptops running vista work great, equivalent to XP in load times etc but more efficient. The new search and folder browsing are neat once you realise instead of "up" you click on the previous folder in the pathname.
Anyway, if windows 7 is like vista but no UAC it'll be perfect and by then I'll be ready to build a new computer.

It's the hate/love relationship I have with windows. Makes something 'similiar' to other programs and thinks they can make it better.

Sometimes it works, but yeah Vista is causing too much trouble.

*sigh* Do they usually have to steal a lot of ideas from Apple? It seems they've been doing this from the start. Seems really sad. It might force me to get a Mac next time.

I like XP's performance. Vista's too unreliable for me, then again, XP is too.
Just not as bad.

currently i'm using vista and i can't say i'm satisfied with the performance. maybe i'll switch to 7 when it's final, heard some good comments about it (people even said that it runs games better than xp? :D). also, i really like the iconized taskbar that i googled for something similar. found this: windows7-like iconized taskbar
it really saves a lot of space :P
