Apple must be getting the info wrong there in Cupertino: Europeans seem to be willing to be spending/must spend much more than Americans for the objects sold at the Apple Store.
I thought of why and I am considering:
Big, fat profit for serious, just check the examples:
Let’s ask Google today’s change for Euro/Dollar and Dollar/Euro.
And… calcs made:
Everybody can understand the “little price difference”.
This is a difference that is equal for every product, but there’s more.
If you check this link, the promotion “Back to school” in USA: http://store.apple.com/us/browse/campaigns/back_to_school
And in Europe (sorry for it being in Italian, there’s no English store here): http://store.apple.com/it/browse/campaigns/back_to_school
If you buy a Mac in USA you get a free iPod Touch, instead in Europe you get a discount for around 75% of its value.
Madness I say.

That’s quite odd. Good thing I’ll never buy a mac and I’ll certainly never buy it in Europe.
I’d also like to point out the meme is:
-List Item 1
-List Item 2
-List Item 3 (up to 6)
-???
-PROFIT!
O__O damn, im never getting a Mac, no matter where i live…….btw, why the hell do you Europeans earn more money!!! …….money, it’s all about the money, damnit
I doubt we earn more, and if we do, we have less spending power anyway because we have taxes USA doesn’t imagine (though we have things like sanity almost for free…).
well that easy cause europeans are greater :D yeah go europe
In England we’re about average in the prices of Macbooks:
Macbook Pros are from £899 (13″)
£899 = €1041/$1482
Comparing them with international rrps;
€1149 = £992
$1199 = £727
Its a tie between profit and loss :D
Man, all of a sudden, all these posts.
So…Canada wins.
and mexico sinks in the total defeat T_T
Talk about getting royally shafted. Makes me wonder what the diff is for the Aussie store..*checks*
Okay..comparison: http://i31.tinypic.com/zpau8.png
1 USD = 1.207 AUD
But like everything -particularly electronics and games- sold in Australia, it’s not that simple. xD To Apple, $1,499.00 USD doesn’t equal $1,808.639 AUD, nooo, it equals $2,399.00 AUD.
It appears we only get the education discount too, no free iPod methinks. We do get free shipping at least.
I love the cheap old used machines over here in Akiba.
They’re clean macs, with pretty nice power, with way lower prices. :D
While I do not like Apple as it sucks (that’s a awesome first class troll, do not try to answers that :P), I would like you to remember that Apple is not the only one to do that : there is also Dell, Nintendo, Sony, etc…
But yes, its sucks :/
Omg u troll I b gunan bannhammar u.
Aaaah, again somebody mentions the age old problem of how corporations worldwide seem to believe that 1USD is exactly 1 euro. Despite the fact that it’s almost 1.5 times more.
Sony has done exactly the same with the ps3 “slim”, because currency rates notwithstanding, everybody knows that 299$ equals 299€.
And now for something completely different.
