New FoOlMatik theme.

New FoOlMatik theme.

I am mildly proud to announce that FoOlRulez has now an original theme, completely coded inside FoOlRulez by… me of course.

FoOlMatik is the name, and the reason for the name is simple: it does absolutely everything automatically, as long as it doesn’t fuck up. There’s not much to automate, but that little, helps a lot.

Honestly, I am always much in a hurry, and I applied the theme to FoOlRulez without too much betatesting, which means you’ll see this theme change day by day in order to get to completition. There are quite few tweaks I have to apply, I want it even more automatized (there’s even a thing I have to edit MANUALLY THROUGH CODE which is not really adapt for such theme).

First highlight of the theme: releases are divided from posts. Which means that if someone starts posting a lot, the releases will still have their place in their corner, and by clicking the MORE RELEASES button, you’ll get a COOL dropdown function that will show you many more releases. The normal posts get more highlighting, it’s obvious, we want you to read them.

On the top you get the usual menu, but there’s also a new one: for now you see Twitter there, with a dropdown too, but really soon I’ll add FaceBook functionalities (in a darker blue button!) and integrate FoOlz.us. You’ll be able to twit from there, as well as add us to your facebook fanclubs and so on, that kind of social network stuff.

There’s a new comment system, completely revamped.

The sidebar is not on the side anymore, as it’s on the bottom. This way I can save a lot of space and show much more info on the home page of the website.

And much more! You’ll see wonders in these days. Slowly you’ll notice.

I am planning on adding graphical buttons and more borders, it will take a few days.

The limit between user friendly and confused is really tiny, or rather, user friendly is a very small area. Most of times it just gets overcome by experience on websites.

I’ll also be honest, I fully agree with Eric.

My first thought was something along the lines of “AAAAHHH MAKE IT GO AWAY.”

Also, I can’t bother with the nightmares that theme gave me because it wasn’t standard, I could remove a lot of plugins because this one doesn’t have compatibility issues. This theme loads faster it’s coded for the latest version of WordPress.

In other words, be patient for a bit and I will fix this theme in order to be faster and more logical to use.

I think that most of the problems would only be because this is a new look, therefore people aren’t used yet to how the things will work, but I think that in the long run, this is only going to help FoOlz’s fans to see better what you guys had been working at =3

This is gonna take some getting used to, but I noticed the faster loading time right away – before the new unique look hit me. My computer can be crazy slow at times, but FoOlz has consistently taken roughly the same time to load, probably around half a minute or so. This time, I just clicked to go to the site and returned to my book while I wait, but I didn’t have the time. Awesome. Now, let’s see if I can’t figure the rest of this out.

At the moment it’s still under construction, also, the cache mode is still not active because I am building (the website calculates the page each time).
