Recruiting results.

Recruiting results.

I am sorry to say that no one passed any of our tests for becoming proofreader or editor in FoOlRulez.

The group’s hands are getting fewer by the passing time, hopefully we’ll find a solution.

We rather lower the number of projects we take up.

Beside one case, we’d have to lower the requests really a lot, making us a random speed group.

We aren’t even all that “speed” anymore…

I have gimp, and have CS4 (and cracks) on a disk not yet installed on my pc, if you want I can have a go at editing, so long as YOU don’t expect much!

I’m not 100% certain with this suggestion, but it stands to reason that there might be some kinda forum out there on the net that is hard to find, but has users in it that are basically scanlators out of scanlation work… though I may be just guessing at this, its not impossible, right?

    • woxxy says:

Actually, as long as the proofreaders section doesn’t grow, having more editors is pretty useless.

Also, it would be problematic scouting people… for many reasons.

  2. scizzer12 says:

Fine. I’ll finish my proofreading test.

and I can pick up the slack where editors are concerned. All I’ve been doing is spamming anyways.

    • woxxy says:

Well, we don’t really need more editors, right? Rorix, Scizzer12, Alphonse, Muge, Middleground.

We have a hell of a section there. Just give me more proofreaders.

  3. Nyarth says:

Did the Editors test package updated a while back? Since I did the test with several pages from “Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora” and never decided to send it to Guor or not…haha

  4. Eliard says:

I could try proofreading, but two things: English is not my forte, and my time is very limited now with school, maybe at vacations I can at least try for it, but for that we would have to wait around a month and a half

  5. Bandages says:

I’ve been pretty busy with college and stuff, so I couldn’t focus at all on the proofreading test. Would it be alright if I finish mine still?

  6. Obzy says:

How long would proofreading take on an average day? And how can I try taking the test?

I didn’t really want to volunteer before when the call went out because it would remove some of the excitement/fun of waiting for releases – but I’d much rather try to help so that releases can happen at all :x

  7. johngray40 says:

How about recruiting via your credits? Lots of people do that.

I’d love to have another go at the proofreader test, so would I be able to have another go at the end of November? I’ve got exams coming up so I think that was part of the reason why I didn’t pass the first time around…

  8. woxxy says:

If you guys believe your English is top level, then PM me in forums to get a wiki-test.

But don’t bother if English is “not your strength”, because it will be useless, you won’t pass.

Nor you would be of any use if you can’t be here very often, despite of university/school/work.

  9. Z-Virus says:

Well, I’ll say one thing first though…

Skill in English does matter, but what matters far more is actually paying attention. I don’t mind if you don’t note every single grammatical problem, but overlooking typos is something I view less favourable.

Sadly that’s also where I see it lacking. A good number of applicants seem to be good, but they just don’t read closely enough. We really have decent people already, what we need are people who can read 300 words and spot the single wrong letter. And do that regularly.

  10. Ace says:

Geh, why do I feel so guilty? I can actually do that, but never finished my proof-reading test because of school exams… and now I’ve got CIE exams so I’m feeling even more guilty :(
Oh damn… sorry Woxxy, I let you down.

  11. Tetramaster says:

Your test is brutal. I like it though. It shows your dedication to quality.

Having to go through so much text is very time consuming for sure.

    • woxxy says:

It’s a simulation, we took two months to create it. The fact is that we aren’t looking just for random proofreaders, but for someone who can actually leave the script without typos. It might be rude, but a proofreader who leaves more than one typo every two scripts is not going to take the position straight away.

Also, it’s massive because you need also to be dedicated enough. Nevertheless, we’re giving even 2 weeks to complete it. So it’s not brutal, it just needs some spare time to do one chapter every other day or so.

  12. Hateful says:

I’m sorry for being so useless outside of spamming :<

Nevertheless, I shall continue to support foolrulez should the day comes no one scanlates in it. :D

  13. DarksideVrael says:

Is there a time limit until your going to stop searching? I’m interested in taking the proofreader test however I’m slightly busy for the next 2 weeks or so I’m curious as to how long you are willing to wait before you aren’t will to accept anymore? (Not including if you have already filled the two positions by then)

  14. woxxy says:

Sorries to the applicants PMd me and didn’t get a reply yet: I didn’t get to stay at my computer in these days because I was at the campus. Tonight my time I will be able to mail you back with the tests.
