Hayate no Gotoku 160
Urgh, how many chapters of Hayate no Gotoku did we work on… we started on 85, we did chapter zero, four chapters in joint… so we did around 81 chapters of Hayate up to now.
Originally we never thought we’d be able to keep up more than half a year, we rather thought that we’d fall back into playing multiplayer games… instead we’ve lost our gaming side.
Lately we’ve been thinking about what to do with this manga, since soon we’ll be on our 100th chapter translated… obviously we don’t really like to work on it as much as we did many months ago, the will has kinda faded away and there are way more interesting an yet untranslated manga we want to work on.
My idea was stopping on chapter 185, making a round number of chapters (85->185) and leave the rest as it is (translated in low quality).
It’s funny to think that when we were stealing (yeah, remember, back when it was a dead project at Musashi Quality? great honor to them for translating many chapters) this manga was basically dead and nobody even cared anymore, while when we approach (slowly) to the hundredth release, there are so many groups working on it that not even Bleach can compare.
We’d like to take this as a compliment, for giving the will to the others who started working on it.
Want me to be honest? With the crew we have now we’d be able to release 3 chapters a day of this ;D

But we have to work on 40+ pages manga to release every two days.

You’re eventually going to drop this? Crap, I hate the whole switching between groups thing that’s so common nowadays with MangaHelpers etc.
Also, aren’t the other scanlators sticking with magazine raws while you guys scan the tankoboun version?
Yeah, most of the rest of this manga has been done via magazine I think.
Eventually we might drop it, unless 1/3rd of group thinks otherwise.
Talking for myself, I don’t believe there’s a bright future for our Hayate no Gotoku scanlation, as everything has been already translated, be it from chinese, korean or via google translator.
Got Up, saw Hayate, I’m happy!!! Thanks for the releases. There are still gaps in what’s been release it seem I personally can’t find chapters 165-168 and 176-178) so as long as you guys are willing to scan the series, Awesome. Also helps that you guys do an awesome job on it too lol.
Those are basically the last gaps. Hopefully other groups will let us scanlate those ourselves. But I really think we won’t have this privilege.
Other groups are one-manned and completely careless about scanlation’s “code of honor”. So we might not have anymore new chapters to scanlate.
This is sad, very sad. I don’t really care about the other groups because I always wait your releases. But anyways I want to thank you because your works are amazing.

first off, thanks for the new chapter! secondly, thanks for all the chapters you’ve done up till now. as long as you continue Hayate I will wait for your releases and not read ahead, but if you do wind up dropping it, c’est la vie. it will have been awesome whether it lasts 100 chapters or to the very end :)
Aw, it’ll be sad to see you guys not scanlating HnG, but I’m looking forward to much of your other works. I just finished reading the released chapters of Sora no Otoshimono, and it is the GREATEST Harem/Ecchi/Action manga I have ever read EVAR!!!
I’ve just recently begun to read Hayate no Gotoku, and it was only a few days ago that I learned of your group, so… Considering that you do good work, I feel a bit disappointed that your work on this series may soon cease. Well, if that’s so, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to suggest focusing on chapters that either haven’t been released or were lost to the ether. Aside from what one person has mentioned already, there’s also the 207-213 gap. Whatever you do, though, good luck and thanks for your efforts thus far.

You don’t need to worry about the several groups releasing the latest Hayate chapters.
This is the situation: there’s this guy (js06), who releases translations (scripts, without typesetting) at mangahelpers.com
What every of these groups do is to get these translations and typeset them into the raws. Notice that all the groups say “translated by js06″.
So, no worries, you’re actually get the chapters from one “group” only.
This is basically everything that there is. Now, I just know that some other groups don’t proofread and none of them have direct contact with the translator to get around misunderstood parts etc.
Myself, I don’t really care about the patchwork problem.
I’d be very sad if you guys dropped it, on the other hand I’d be able to read more chapters instead of waiting once a mon-

Just wanted to say that I think you guys have done a great job translating Hayate no Gotoku! Whether or not you decide to drop it is, of course, up to you. Regardless, you have all clearly put in a lot of time and effort to bring us this excellent series in high quality, and I really appreciate that. If you plan on doing only a few more chapters, I second the poster who suggested filling in the “gaps” that exist from 165-168, 174-177, and 207-213. Whatever you choose, thank you very much for bringing us what you have thus far, and best of luck with your future scanlating endeavors!
