Since we had quite the power (compromises don’t exist for us) we decided to use a hole in our time to make ANOTHER Sora no Otoshimono 34.
We’ve released the Simple scans one so now we can release ours!
This one uses our own translation and our own double-proofing systems.
Fair and simple, our translator Necrophantasia is so very willing to translate this manga he didn’t want to see it taken away from his hands. And I guess the whole rest of the group was just as happy to be able to deliver a 100% FoOlRulez version of Sora no Otoshimono.
With more quality, more will, more heart, more brain, more FoOl, more HELLO KITTY and cooler CREDITS PAGE. Look at that credits page! It’s Nymph and I colored it (crap, we had too much time… it’s the image of this post).
Well… enough with bragging. Here’s the work of 9 team members done in 24 hours.
We just released (again) Sora no Otoshimono 34 (FoOlRulez only) http://foolrulez.org/blog/2010/01/sora-n...

Guess I will go with this, thanks to the team ^__^
I loled and I knew this was coming.
Booo hello kitty theme!
Woxxy stop taking drugs.
You said something about 100 chapters for HnG. Is this the number of chapters that you intend to keep behind? You are almost there.
You most likely didn’t notice we started on chapter 85 when there were chapters up to 220. We didn’t keep behind, we kept Hayate no Gotoku alive while everyone ran away from it because there were too many chapters to work on.
Doing 80~ chapters in a year is quite a feat.
Also bla bla I want to piss off people so I spout random crap in their blog.
this site theme…
it’s really something
thanks for the release
Well, by comparing the three scanlations, I think the translation quality goes like this:
4chan=FoOlRulez>>>Simple Scans
Both you and 4chan has some minor translation errors, but overall I think 4chan’s is very slightly better. However, you did translate the sfx’s, so they’re about equal.
I highly encourage everyone to read both versions.
And here are some suggestions to improve your translation:
Don’t leave the two exclamation marks in the title out. Originally every title consists of two kanjis and two exclamation marks.
Use “New Continent” instead of “New World”. In Japan, both 新世界 (shinsekai) and 新大陸 (shintairiku) refer to this thing, but the author chose 新大陸 (shintairiku). So you should use “New Continent” instead, to keep true to the original.

Of course you can ignore me, but I’m just trying to get the best possible translation.
Can’t ignore you. I’m rather thankful for your help.
I guess “new world” refers to “new continent”, and it’s a reference to the discovery of Americas. This is why it should be “new world”. Of course, I am not the translator here so I can’t decide upon it. And I guess I can’t really read your link. The link you gave, if you click on English (I can’t read runes) gives “New World”… I don’t get the point of it ;_;
I don’t know if in Japan there’s the direct reference of “new world” to “new continent”.
I’ll do the title thing from next release for sure though, I guess you said it earlier, but it slip by because there were so many editors.
Wait, I reread your comment, so I guess New Continent is the only correct one.
I guess it’s my fault, because I told Necrophantasia to use New World when he asked innocently.
Very sorry, I’ll resubmit this to Necrophantasia so we might change it next release.
Thanks for considering my suggestions. One other thing:
Ikaros should be a Strategic Angeloid, not a Combat Angeloid. Ever heard of strategic arms? In Japanese, it’s 戦略兵器. An example of strategic arms are nuclear weapons. They are more than weapons: Rather than being used in battle, they are more oftenly used to threaten the enemy.
Reference: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strategic_nuclear_weapon
Oh, and using stupid instead of idiot is better, I think. Stupid is… how do I say… more playful?
Those are the issues when one starts in the middle and isn’t able to discern the standards from the actual translation. Guess combat was to follow our idea to stick to the anime translation. Again, don’t mind me, I am quite clueless about Japanese, I am just the group caretaker.
Strategic still makes more sense, considering the chapter when Astraea appeared, with all the stats explained by Nymph.
I’d translate it under your suggestion to “Strategic Warfare Angeloid”. Then, it’s our proofreader’s duty to pick the most befitting version. You must have noticed how we reword… massively.
I think it’s just Strategic Angeloid… You won’t say “strategic warfare weapon”, right? Just strategic weapon.
And I heard that the subs of crunchy roll sucks. Don’t stick to any translations, only do so when there are alternatives which are equally accurate.
Yes. Yes. I thought one could actually say “Strategic warfare weapon”, but that’s just my Italian interfering with English.
Don’t forget this is still a project out of quite a few (though now this is definitely the one we prefer), so we use tricks like following other’s standards to not have to decide upon our own standards. Posing standards is a really difficult thing, and people might be upset when we change the translation style others made.
Like the Horo-Holo thing.
Of course, (precision > others’ mistakes).
Actually one of the reasons why I chose to use New World as opposed to New Continent was to try and stay at least a little consistent with the anime, since most of the people who were moving onto the manga were also the same people who watched the anime.
I didn’t know that Hello Kitty was working as a pimp as a side job…
Thanks for the release!
Hello Kitty comes from the dark-side, after all.
Hmm…I may be asking too much, but I want other works of Minazuki Suu to be scanlated as well. You will definitely love them if you like SnO.
SEVEN OCEAN:
A completed series, with 1 volume and 6 chapters. It’s about the main charater, Nanami Sekai(lit.Seven Ocean-World), trying to return his debts through catching rare sea creatures. With Sci-fi elements.
Gou-Dere Bishoujo Nagihara Sora:
Ongoing series with 4 chapters, about half a year per chapter. The main character, Yamakawa Shouta, is an otaku. One day, his favorite character from the manga “Soul x Kiss”, Nagihara Sora, appeared in front of him…but then things go weird. Sora’s personality is completely different from the one in the manga.
He~nshin! ~Sonata Birdie Rush~:
Ongoing series with 20 chapters I guess, but only 2 volume raws (12 chapters) are available now. Volume 3 is out but haven’t been scanned. “It is a golf manga but managed to fit in bath scenes…the author is really a pervert, isn’t he?” And by chapter 12, we get a character who is as manly as Tomoki. Awesome.
All of them are as funny as SnO, and are even more ecchi.
Some team member says: “Man, just recruit this ty guy”.
We’re a dozen people, not one more. So we can’t really pick up any more manga without killing completely the releasing speed. And it’s not like we’re being any fast in first place, with barely 13 releases a month.
>more ecchi.
Oh God. @_@
@Necrophantasia
Well, you’re right in some sense, but all the manga chapters before are using “New Continent”. This will create even more confusion.
By the way, there’s a cleaned version of chapter 35. Should save you guys some time.

Wish we had a cleaned one yesterday. Would have saved me lots of work indeed :p
