Winter season 2010

Alright, I didn’t watch everything everything yet.
-Baka to Test to Shokanjuu
-Dance in the Vampire Bund
-Ookamikakushi
-Durarara!!
-The Legend of Koizumi
-So-Ra-No-Wo-To
I’ll follow the random order I used in the list.
-Baka to Test to Shokanjuu is pretty much an useless anime. Unless it doesn’t take a serious turn and doesn’t make the “study game” just a background for the real story, this anime is pretty much screwed.
The story revolves around a school where students are divided by grade, and the lower is your grade, the worse will be the furniture in your classroom. The highest get laptops, the lowest broken desks and windows. Literally, they’re castes. In order to gain control of a better classroom, they have to play a fighting game against other students where your attack/defense points equal to the last exam’s score.
That’s about it.
-Dance in the Vampire Bund had a fail-start. They turned the first 18 minutes of this show into a TV show in which they asked to some famous people (between them, the mangaka of VampireBund itself) if they believe that vampires exist. The story (manga at least) narrates about how vampires decided to buy an artificial island beside Japan at the price of Japanese debt, in order to live in there.
Now, I wouldn’t mind such a troll intro, usually, if it wasn’t done so bad it lost completely the taste of the story. The whole chatting made no sense, the protagonist made an useless cameo, Mina Tepes (Queen of Vampires) sits in the studio between other watchers and sheds tears when the protagonist says that vampires don’t exist…
On top of it all, the scene that had to ignite the action of the story, was so bad I had my nose in my eye. Mina Tepes acted in a completely out-of-character way.
Yet, it’s an anime to watch from the second episode. I have my doubts SHAFT will troll the whole series anyway.
Final note: I hope the ending theme is trolling as well.
-Ookamikakushi is yet another show with Ryukishi07, that this time doesn’t give a whole story, but is game director, from which this story is derived. This anime should be interesting as long as it doesn’t go in the same universe as Umineko and Higurashi (that would be milking a franchise). But seems that here “nothing cries”, so it shouldn’t be one.
It’s not a Studio Deen anime – thank God. It’s AIC, the same people with huge budget who made Sora no Otoshimono, Seto no Hanayome and will make Strike Witches II. This is awesome, because they’re high tier group.
Flashforward: the protagonist and a girl in love for him get chased by – awesome – slayers. Back to present: protagonist, dad and whellchair’d sister (DAWWWWW) move to a new city. Suddenly, a girl appears (the girl from the flashforward), living in front of the protagonist’s house. She’s in love for him and they’re both happy about it in just 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Etcetera etcetera.
I’m kinda looking forward for the next episode. It looks like it won’t become too complex, while being a murder story. I like them clean. There are enough thrillers where “what you see is not what actually happened”. There’s enough shows like that.
-Durarara!! had a clean start, which I didn’t expect. By the same author of Baccano!, Durarara is tainted in the same style as the previous story. The OP shows that they want to keep the same style of Baccano, and as for now they did it right. The feeling of supernatural stuff in the air is good, the artstyle is good, the protagonist is there to man-up, the weird characters are all around, and some could be memorable.
I am waiting for Isaac and Miria to popup anytime. I hope there will be a pair of characters like them in this story too.
There’s a headless black biker in this story. He (or she?) is acting like a hero. He’s filled with awesome and I want more.
This gotta be a show filled with BRO. It’s what I liked the most on the first episode of this season. I’m eager to see more.
-The Legend of Koizumi makes me want to scratch what I just said about Durarara being the best show up to now.
Koizumi is the former Prime Minister in Japan (real world). He’s the GAR guy who happens to be in this anime. I’ll make this short, it’s just a 6 minute weekly webcast.
Koizumi gets shot to death, and goes anyway playing mahjong against terrorists that, if he loses, will send a nuke to Tokyo. He wins (with special effects), but the terrorists send the missle anyway, that Koizumi will make explode with an F16 jet.
Epic stuff.
-So-Ra-No-Wo-To is… take K-On, put it in 20th century. Same characters (version2.0).

Fresh on FoOls: Winter season 2010 http://foolrulez.org/blog/2010/01/winter...
Let’s see…gonna watch So-Ra-No-Wo-To, Baka to Test to Shokanjuu(the premise intrigues me), and Dance in the Vampire Bund….
Also….wasn’t there supposed to be some sort of Butler vs. Maid anime? Something about a butler school and maid school and they go at it or something? Anybody remember something like that? Is that this season?
It’s Ladies vs Butlers! :D
Isn’t Ommamori Himari a new one as well? Episode 1 is out, I hope it’s decent, cuz I like the manga
Whoa whoa, I forgot Ladies Vs. Butlers. I watched that, I’ll add.
Himari is still in my to watch list.
Chu-Bra as well.
The only one of this season I am not watching is The Legend of Koizumi. Political jokes are not my thing.
It’s not political jokes, it’s politics doing gar stuff.
K-ON OF DUTY AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!!!
But seriously that made me rofl.
Omamori Himari seems decent to watch.
DURARARA HAD HORO>>>>>
Instant win in my book.
….is K-On of Duty supposed to be some joke or shout-out to some other anime?? K-On! is one of them…but whats the of Duty part?
Call of Duty, a popular videogame.
