Warmog's and Atma's is not a good build anymore. Mallet is pretty good on on Panth, full armour pen build can work on him too.
Starting with a couple of Doran's Blades is often a good idea though, but it depends on the circumstances.

Didn't play him much yet, but I always felt like Triforce gives all Hecarim ever needs. Just get Triforce and full tank items and you're ready to go...
What items do you get for him?

Triforce may give him a lot of what he needs, but they're all too thinned out imo. IF I do get it, it'll be an ultra late item, but if I do, that means I'm stuck with it's low tier components for a rather long time. My Hecarim is kinda squishy whenever I try to get Trinity Force.

 Generally after boots, I try to rush for an Aegis, it provides both MR and armor to last be for a while. Afterwards I go for a Brutalizer, and depending on my situation, either a Spirit Visage or upgrade to a Youmu's ASAP.

Afterwards I build tanky while working up a Frozen Mallet. FoN for MR(since it also gives a little MS) and Randuin's or Frozen Heart for armor.

 I am considering a Phantom Dancer to see how it goes for him when I have the chance. Something tells me it probably won't work out all that well since he needs to be tanky. But...I haven't had a chance to play in 2 whole days thanks to whoever screwed the client up. Yesterday it was offline and today there's a 2 hour queue time.


 It pisses me off that Sheen has only Trinity Force to upgrade for if you're AD, because it's the sole reason why his Q exists, to proc it.

 You mean he gets Youmu's Ghostblade+Frozen Heart? It works...okay. Better than Randuins that's for sure. Youmu's is a must from my experience because it's built from a Brutalizer, which is crucial for his damage output.


That said, it's really hard to pinpoint what's wrong with him. His Q seems to be rather weak, but in truth it's probably really unsatisfying "hidden power". His W has a ridiculous cooldown, no damage, and lasts for such a short duration, but if your Carry and AP mage is fed, you can tank the enemy team. His E knocks the enemy the wrong way at times, long CD, takes too long to ramp up speed, and only lasts 4 seconds, yet...it's burst of damage at maximum distance is amazing, and if you gank someone from the right position it can be devastating.


 In other words..........he's a compicated champion that seems to teeter between awesome and underwhelming.  The only one-sided point that can brought up against him is that he's rather slow when his E isn't activated, but then again, that could just be an illusion caused by his large 4-legged model(maybe he'll "feel" much faster if he were a smaller biped champion?)

Merc threads/Frozen heart/Trinity force/last whisper with a FoN or Maw and randuins omen, depending on your needs.

I personally like a shurelia instead of a randuins. Especially since Frozen heart already fullfills your armor needs. But if you are later ingame, the CD from defence mastery already makes it so that Frozen heart/Randuims is 40% cap.

I guess a early Brutalizer is okay, but the ghostblade i felt was a bit of a loss on him. Granted, i didn't try that much different builds yet.
Wriggle on him is quite funny, seeing how much sustain he gets from it.

Whelp, after much practicing with Hecarim, I have concluded. Sheen is a must have....but Trinity Force is a luxury item that should be bought as a 5th or 6th item, only to give Sheen something to upgrade into.



So apparently there's a lot of incoming changes coming up for the game. Athene's is getting a 10 AP buff. QSS is getting nerfed. Miss Fortune is getting a minor inconsequential buff on her Make it Rain, and Orianna is getting a series of drastic changes and tweaks...yet they may or may not have made her into even more a mana guzzler in order to deal the same she's always done.

Jayce is surprisingly fun to play. 

Dunno how strong he's lategame without having a real ulti, but he has tons of mobility and utility.
With his low range I don't think he should be build like an AD carry, but if you build him tanky he can do lots for the team.
And the way he swings that hammer with his E is just awesome, lol.

I'm just terrified of the prospect of having to face a ranged bruiser up top...and unlike Urgot, a ranged bruiser with the MS steroids and a knockback, and have the ability to turn into  melee champion when I do engage.

You never faced Nidalee in toplane so far?

 I faced her before, kind of annoying, but I can take her on pre-level 6 (post level 6 you just can't catch her anymore...having an AFK ally didn't help either).

 Although being Fizz probably helped. Jayce has multiple MS steroids and a knockback. Still haven't seen him yet, so maybe he has severe mana issues or bad base stats.



 Also...what kind of horrible horrible parents would name their own son Jayce? Jason, Jay, Jake, all those would have been fine. But Jayce?



edit: I just noticed something....Haunting Guise isn't bad on Orianna. Turns out 45 spell penetration is quite significant.
