VLC showong green screen

I updated from 1.1.5 to 1.1.11.  now all my videos show greens screen instead of the actual video lol.  audio is unaffected.  I updated my codecs, but still showing a green screen.  the old version dosent though, any reason why? 

P.S.  I got me a real video player aka media player classic, I use VLC for other stuff.

If you don't have any specific reasons to use VLC you should change to CCCP yeah... I guess this is common knowledge on the internet about anime. Which makes me wonder, when did I start thinking like that? Who put into my head "CCCP is DA BEST, everything else doesn't matter".
I wonder...
Maybe WOxxy knows something about it.
Lol I'm relying way too much on him, I'm pretty sure he doesn't actually.
Anyone knows specific stuff about media players and anime video formats etc? This could be interesting.

VLC uses internal codecs, CCCP is a codec pack that pretty much lists all commonly used codecs available.
That is pretty much the difference, CCCP will have newer codecs available, because VLC only updates their codecs every time there is a new release. Due to this difference, Media player classic is also a lighter media player to use.

And what do you want to know about anime video formats? Before they were mostly .avi, but now you see HD quality more often. I even had a few in realplayer format as i remember.

Anyway, guess i could recommend Gomplayer instead of VLC, it's pretty much the same, only the interface is much more user friendlier. There was a different one, that was also very good, but i forgot it's name. Maybe i will remember it later.

Hmm you pretty much answered all the questions I had in mind... I dunno what I meant by video formats lol. Yeah most of them were in avi back then now it's mkv cuz hd and easier to put the subs in and modify them I think.

ALso lol, still got some realplayer vids too.

Was my post deleted? I said the exact same thing as Puppy. Stop using VLC. It's not worth the trouble that you can avoid with CCCP. Maybe someone interpreted it as spam.

Well, both systems have advantages and disadvantages.

For someone who is a total noob, i would advice to use a internal one like VLC.
After all, you just need to install it and you can play stuff.

With the CCCP way, it gives you too much options for a person that isn't that well knowledge'd.

I don't know much if anything at all about this stuff, and CCCP just works for me. I've never had problems with it.

VLC is giving me a green screen too...but only on my persona 4 anime eps
Is there any way to fix it?

Quick search of the VideoLAN forum says that you should try deleting your cache (start > programs > vlc > quick settings > delete preferences & cache).
