I believe one of its main themes is family. I'm on a bit of a hiatus from playing the VN atm, but so far, I think its very calming, heartwarming even.
At first I thought the art was meh, but then I grew to like it.
dr. pepper:
The Devil on a G-String: Exciting VN with a few choices, each leading to lengthy bad ends or equally or more lengthy good ends for each route. The main route is exceptionally longer than the others and throws in quite a few plot twists. It's an emotional rollercoaster as a high-ranking mafia member and an unofficial crack detective fall in love and take down a criminal mastermind.
Muv-Luv Alternative: The "sequel" to Muv-Luv Unlimited and Extra. This takes on the much darker themes of Unlimited and expands them even further than anyone could have thought possible. You will actually face the BETA a lot, and you will never grow tired of facing them. It is incredibly long, so buckle up.
Kageryuu:
^ Included those in the list in the first post. Thank you.

Obligatory VN news update:
Aroduc has just released his translation of Kamidori Alchemy Meister: http://tenka.seiha.org/2012/02/atelier-wil-and-his-pretty-princess-dressup-adventures/#more-14987
I am sure the last entry in the portfolio of one of Japan's premier SRPG makers is releveant to the interests of some of you. /coy
Kageryuu:
Oh right, there was that one too...
*sigh*
I don't have enough time for all this...
Hope Himegari Dungeon Meister will get a translation too. :>
Edit: Couldn't resist and downloaded the "Catmidori" file. D'aww :-[
