First, the most obviously dropped: Hayate no Gotoku.
We are against wasting time, and HnG is fully translated. Single chapters have multiple releases. I hate saying that we’re quitting Hayate, because without this one manga we’d never become the FoOls we are today. Though, we’re just making this official. Doubt we’ll touch Hayate again. This is also because it’s licensed. Please, go buy Viz Media’s version.
To other scanlators working on Hayate: learn to proofread and edit. And take your time. Your fast releases suck.

Second: Kanokon.
Ok, we never really liked Kanokon. We call it Canisporn in team. And, for how you might think we like ecchi manga: we don’t. It’s just a coincidence. We like romance and tsunderes, and twintails and lolis. They come packed with ecchi. Not like we mind. But we don’t crave for it either.
We’d still work on Kanokon, if we had a translator. We feel obliged to complete what we started. In the case of Kanokon, we can’t anymore, because the translator disappeared. We’d have dropped this earlier if we knew he would quit working with us.

Kanokon is the first manga that we drop while unfinished. I am really sorry that this happened. Here ends the record that “FoOlRulez never left anything untranslated”.

Any manga not dropped in this blogpost won’t be dropped anytime soon.

Alright, so I have my first novel basically done, and I am waiting for when these exams end to give a last serious proofread to it. Not sure if you remember, it’s called Nights, watching the purple sky and it’s based on the light novel style that Japan invented. With the twist: it’s based on a western story.
Months ago I released half a chapter of it to see the reception, and I got threatening e-mails about wanting more and blowing me. I am not sure about those, but next month I am sure “Nights” will be released. Best story ever, I tell you.

Originally we never thought we’d be able to keep up more than half a year, we rather thought that we’d fall back into playing multiplayer games… instead we’ve lost our gaming side.

Lately we’ve been thinking about what to do with this manga, since soon we’ll be on our 100th chapter translated… obviously we don’t really like to work on it as much as we did many months ago, the will has kinda faded away and there are way more interesting an yet untranslated manga we want to work on.
My idea was stopping on chapter 185, making a round number of chapters (85->185) and leave the rest as it is (translated in low quality).

It’s funny to think that when we were stealing (yeah, remember, back when it was a dead project at Musashi Quality? great honor to them for translating many chapters) this manga was basically dead and nobody even cared anymore, while when we approach (slowly) to the hundredth release, there are so many groups working on it that not even Bleach can compare.

We’d like to take this as a compliment, for giving the will to the others who started working on it.

Want me to be honest? With the crew we have now we’d be able to release 3 chapters a day of this ;D

But we have to work on 40+ pages manga to release every two days.

Last time we made a mass release was 4 months ago, with 12 mangas. I killed myself to release everything at once, it just doesn’t work. That was around 400mb of releases. So, I’ll take my time, and I’ll keep releasing for the next 2 days.

How big is today’s release? Like hell I know, I’ll just process all the manga that have been ready this week one by one, giving myself a pause in between to relax. Making editing fixes and releasing is though stuff.

But, taking credits for myself is stupid, the thanks goes all to the team, that has kept up now for 1 year and 5 months with (almost) no change in the squad. I have been leading FoOlRulez now for 3 years and 5 months, and I must say I was never happier than now, even though we’re only 12 (two years ago we were 64). It’s all cozy and we pretty much know eachother well.

In past I was (childishly) always giving versions to FoOlRulez, depending on big changes. Right now we’re on FoOlRulez version 9. It’s been version 9 this since one year and 5 months ago. Hopefully it will be like this for many years to come. Or, at least, this version shall end with noone injured.

Ah, what am I blabbing about… let’s start with releases.

Necrophantasia lately is bringing furry, two furry chapters are on their way for heavens (and manga readers). It’s going to take a bit, at least another week, because, you know, sometime Horo just won’t shit the F up, with her noble talk. So, we’ll bring you her QUALITY speech pretty soon, most likely in a double release. Realistically, in two releases.

Same for Nusunde Lilith, and for Seto no Hanayome. So I plan two chapters of Seto, two chapters of Lilith and two chapters of Spice and Wolf by the end of the month. At least I hope we can keep it up, we’re doing a lot of parallel jobs.
